A few years ago, a website was developed to be a place where students could share their stories of God’s redemptive work in their lives. It’s called StorySpot.com, and it’s a way of helping students see how God works in their lives, as well as a strategy for sharing with non-Christians. Students can ask unsaved friends or relatives to read their story, which will contain spiritual elements that can be discussed further.
The ICT has adopted this site in order to revamp it and improve its functionality. A few of us will be working on redesigning the look, rewriting some of the site’s text, and adding a character that will “speak” to visitors to coach them in how to write a good story about God’s work in their life. This site is a great tool that helps fulfill our mission to win (people to Christ), build (or train them) and send (them to tell others)!
Mikayla is becoming more mobile every day. She now turns onto her stomach from her back easily and vice versa (we often find her sleeping on her stomach in her crib). She can creep very slowly and we predict she will be crawling within the month. Mikayla has also started formula to supplement mommy’s milk and will soon be entering the world of solid (well, mushy) food. Last week Mikayla enjoyed her first-ever bike ride (thanks to an awesome find at a garage sale of a bike trailer that attaches to the back of David’s bicycle.) Although too short to meet height requirements to get on any theme-park rides here, we think MJ will love them as being startled causes her to go into fits of laughter. Pray for our upper body strength to keep up with her growth. (At five months she has now doubled her birth weight.)
As part of their series “Faith in America,” NBC Nightly News highlighted Campus Crusade for Christ’s conference at spring break (Big Break--you can see the segment at: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/7296549/) Students got to share the gospel with over 5,000 of their peers during three weeks. Close to 10% of those students indicated they received Christ into thier heart. Praise God for those who came to Panama City Beach, Florida, looking for a good time and left knowing real life in Christ.
