Last week as I laid on the examination table and looked at David we both had a tear in our eye as we were able to hear our baby’s heartbeat for the first time! Yes, we’re expecting! We probably won’t commit to cooking a big turkey for Thanksgiving this year as we are due November 29. Heather has felt somewhat queasy and has been more tired, which is understandable. This is our first pregnancy and we’d appreciate your prayers. Please pray that God would be forming a healthy baby inside Heather, that she would be able to get adequate nutrition and rest, and that God would prepare both of us for the road that is ahead of us.
It’s about one week before we pack up the car and head to North Myrtle Beach, SC. This summer will be the first time that Heather and I will staff a summer project together. About 50 college students will take part in this project. Each will have a summer job at a local establishment, and evenings and weekends are used for times of training and teaching. As staff we have a great opportunity to invest in the lives of these students. We will be going with them to the beach to help them share their faith. Each student will have a staff member mentoring them. Many students will share their faith for the first time. It will be a summer where together we look to God to see what He will do and what part we will play.
Please join us in praying for the project—that the students would desire to know God more and be submitted to him; that healthy friendships would form and be a source of encouragement and challenge; and that we as a family would grow closer to the Lord and see him work as we step out in faith. Please pray for the men and women we will be discipling that there would be trust and God would use what he has built into us to be a blessing to others. And please pray for a close staff team.
Heather has been entering her paintings into a few different shows and contests and has seen some results. She was one of the featured artists at a one-day event at the Orlando Museum of Art in April. This month, she has another painting featured at the Osceola Center for the Arts. It’s our prayer that more doors will open and Heather will be able to connect with others in the local arts community. You can check out her paintings at our website, at this address: www.nagyworld.com/portfolio
Thanks for partnering with us!
