The Da Vinci Code
Our ministry is continually asking how we will give the 100 million college students of the world a chance to hear about Jesus. There is no one answer, and it’s a challenge that’s futile apart from God. The Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” Opportunities arise all the time, and we want to be ready to respond.

In May, Hollywood will release a major motion picture starring Tom Hanks and directed by Ron Howard. The Da Vinci Code is based on the book of the same name, written by Dan Brown. Fiction is skillfully blended with history to bring the ultimate conspiracy theory that the Church is hiding the true identity of Jesus.

“If we approach the Da Vinci Code movie with a positive and wholesome attitude,” Josh McDowell says, “we can turn a potentially negative influence into a positive impact. Our response to the movie can give us a marvelous opportunity to explain the difference between fact and fiction, truth and imagination, and history and hoax.”

Our team helped design and edit a booklet entitled “The Da Vinci Code: A Companion Guide to the Movie” that’s available to give to moviegoers. To order booklets, please visit www.davinciquest.org. A website is also under development that will address issues the movie brings up (www.JesusandDavinci.com). Please pray that God would use this movie to cause many to want to know more.

On the Homefront
We’re enjoying the mild weather that comes with being a Floridian. A plastic kiddie pool is ready to be used in a few weeks. Heather is doing well, but still a little tired trying to keep up with Mikayla and growing baby #2. We had an early ultrasound done which showed everything was going well, and only one baby inside—much to our relief, after Heather was told she was a little big for this point of her pregnancy. We hope to find out if we are having a boy or girl in a few months when we have another ultrasound. Mikayla is as active as ever, running and climbing, pulling out toys, talking a lot (just nothing we can understand), showing both a sweetness with hugs and kisses, as well as reminders that even she has a sin nature.

We’re still in great need of finding new support partners to join our team, especially with another baby on the way. Please pray God would do more than we could imagine in bringing new people onto our team. Thanks for your partnership with is through giving and prayer!
