During production of a recent video, my
role was director of photography. The video
was made to promote Preview Weekend,
an annual event where college juniors and
seniors visit the different offi ces here at our
headquarters and see how they might use
their major and gifts in ministry working
with us. The video takes a humorous look
at how it’s great to work with the people
here, and you never know who you might run into. You can visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCj8O0sgGps on the internet to see it yourself, or read on for an explanation.
The promo portrays a young man explaining how he loves working here, as he gets to
use his skills and talents to reach people for Christ, and he also loves the people he gets
to work with. The video cuts to him getting on an elevator, where he fi nds himself chatting
briefly with the three wise men on an elevator!
As part of our professional and spiritual development, Crusade offers seminary-type
classes for its staff. Heather will be attending a class offered this month. She’s been busy
reading, answering questions and writing papers to prepare for the class. She has enjoyed
reading about different doctrines and aspects of Christianity, and also looks forward
to being in class while David is home with the kids for the week.
We were able to spend some time with family in New York and Michigan over Christmas. On

Christmas Day we visited Niagara
Falls which is just a few minutes from David’s
parents. We even crossed into Canada and took
a spin on an enclosed Ferris wheel that gave us a
nice view of the area and the falls. Mikayla really
enjoyed the snow this year, while Elijah was a bit
too bundled up to be able to move. Mikayla is
now practicing writing letters with her mom, and
will start dance classes this week. Elijah understands
more and responds to simple commands
like “Go get your shoes.” He said “bubble” pretty
well the other day, is signing a few words, and likes spinning. We’re thankful to be back in
Florida where we can enjoy being outside. (Last weekend it was near 80 degrees and we
took a bike ride.)
